“Within the matrix of ancient religions and philosophies, life was seen as part of an endless cycle of birth and death; time was like a wheel, spinning irrevocably until ancient Jews began to see time differently, as a narrative whose triumphant conclusion would come in the future.”
Thomas Cahill, The Gifts of the Jews
When I was younger and much more naïve, in my days as an undergraduate, I was introduced to Leonard Cohen’s poetry and music by a girl who adored him. Fact is as a lover of poetic expression, form, and the written word generally, aesthetically and emotionally, there are elements and fragments that are particularly talented. It is ideologically that today I find divergence and even “malice” in his works; his voice today often strikes me as particular or even alien (but strangely modernism has made us all sympathetically Jewish to some degree and thus receptive to their perspective). As I watched the music video for his song The Future, it struck me as supremely telling, so as to deserve further examination and analysis.
Now to break it down, line by line, stanza by stanza:
Disconnected with from the tree-like structure of organic society and infiltrated by the Jew, who has at times found affinity with the unwanted garden weed, everything becomes everything else thereby becoming nothing particular – gender fluidity, up is down, man is women, there is no Jew or Gentile in “the blizzard of the world.” This ‘post-modern’ deracinated world of “crack” and “anal sex”, has so “overturned the order of the soul” meaning the traditional soul of Europe or what Cohen later calls “the ancient western code.” As the Ancient Western Code becomes overturned, measurement becomes impossible because everyone and everything is dwindled down to a consumer and practitioner of the total leveling falsity of democracy. Within the world of the egalitarian last men, hierarchies are considered evil, measurement of a people or civilization is considered narrow-minded, Eurocentric, and racist. To measure, is to validate, is to discern, is to discriminate, is to hierarchize, and to do so would mean implementing order. In ‘liquid modernity’ one must allow the predatory banks to engage in Ponzi schemes, to defraud hundreds of millions of dollars, because a call to measure or to order would be “fascist.” Herein, the boundaries between self and other, between identity and non-identity, between Europeans and non-Europeans, between civilization and its “discontents” become blurred. Order demands, hierarchies; it demands boundaries, distinctions, validations and discriminations in order to be stabilized. Finally, like Evola’s warriors standing among the ruins, when European man finally points the finger at the Hebraic Svengalis and demands repentance the tribe does not even understand the notion, “what do you mean, you don’t like your liberalized, free-market, multicultural, consumerist wasteland? We are helping you become more ‘human,’ we are a light onto nations!” They sneer and laugh in the privacy of their mirrored rooms, in their knowledge and cronyism, in “their secret lives,” when they say “repent, I wonder what they meant.”
Then Cohen, high priest of the tribe, really shows his hand, seals the deal as they say, in the next lines:
The private life of people and individuals will explode into a borderless world; houses will become transparent, as in Yevgeny Zamyatin’s We. LOVE will rein triumphant in all its diaphanous glory. Only HATE hides behind walls! Through your Web2.0 anonymous message boards, we have your IP addresses! A reckoning of LOVE is coming! What do you mean you don’t accept Christ (LOVE) as your salvation, burn the witch! Burn the heretic! Burn THE HATERS and THE RACISTS!
Through it all the Jew will sit above as a managerial directing group, in their black and white suits making sure dystopia runs smoothly this time, “some animals are more equal than others.”
These HATERS, are the “phantoms” and “fires on the road” to the new glorious REVOLUTION of LOVE, to the DISSOLUTION of boarders! They need to accept the new world order, or be LOVED to SUBMISSION.
Here in the music video you see a white man drowning and blood rising. And again Cohen sings, “the white man dancing.” Video cuts are interspersed of white people swimming in purple filtered water, ending with a white male drowning in blood. The camera zooms into a close-up of Cohen’s face as he stares menacingly and unemotionally at the camera… “You’ll see your woman hanging upside down.” Your woman in reference to the white man dancing, the white man’s woman, will be hanging upside down, as he says that line he walks past a classical almost roman painting of a white woman in the background – the imagery of her hanging upside down like a satanic pentagram means that she will not be lead not by her reason, or her heart but by her lower strata. “Her features covered by her fallen gown.” The fallen gown imagery denotes a kind of sexual transgression – her now socially acceptable miscegenation will distort her phenotype, her distinctive features and those of her womb will be covered or washed over. The blending of the races into one homogenous people, here the images change to a well-dressed drowning white man, symbolizing the death of the race through inbreeding.
With the flooding tides of liberal tears caught in the turmoil of their petty tantrums creating tsunamis of disbelief, disorder and discontentment; one cannot help but be reminded of Carlyle’s worldview of those world-historical great men destroying the happiness of peoples while fulfilling the destiny of an age. The whole of the media establishment, the whole of the Western World has been rocked by the Ascension of Trump. The vindication of the Trump Ascendency is that of the exanimate vein becoming the pulse alive with the flowing blood of the risen people.
Trump’s last meme of the campaign before he won the election was to “drain the swamp.” For Ezra Pound the symbolism of the swamp was wrapped up in the whole fabric of current and on-going tendencies found within the Western tradition subverting and transfiguring it into a bog of pestilence and murky weakness. But the swamp is not the Western Tradition but what befalls it when it fails itself. For Pound the swamp was the symbol of all that is undifferentiated, luxuriant and infectious – it is what occurs when the world falls to the polarity of disorder, when the tendencies emblematic of usury seep and destroy the unity of the organic hierarchy, harmony and proportion of a totalitarian completeness – symbolized by the citadel. In Cantos XLI Mussolini confronts the tangle of the swamp creating order out of the chaos. The swamp, fueled by its usurious source, creates a system of ill-begotten mixes, of multiculturalism, miscegenation, fragmentation, and living with disease. Up is down, left is right, men are women, nothing is sacred anymore in the quagmire of usury. Trump’s last advertisement was called “anti-Semitic” showing Jews Soros, Yellin, when Trump says “For those who control the levers of power in Washington and for the global special interests they partner with these people who do not have your interest in mind.” The Jewish usurer and Goldman Sachs CEO Blankfein is shown later in the ad in a similar vein. While the corrupt oligarchical usurers and their sycophantic nomenklatura are flushed out of the “swamp” in Washington by Trump-Pence in the manner of Mussolini’s “battle of the swamp” – one thing is certain – this is historical in a more profound manner than Obama ever could be. Hegel wrote that history is a slaughter-bench and indeed it is the law of nature that the gears of its mechanism require sacrifice. Build the wall President Trump, build the wall, drain the swamp and launch Operation Wetback.

“..the constant sucking of the blood of the Western working class by the bourgeois class. This form is nothing less than the horror of a property-owning class that appears to be vampire-like in its desire and ability to suck the life out of the working class.” [Neocleous, M. “The Political Economy of the Dead: Marx’s Vampires.” History of Political Thought 24 (4): p.668-684 (2003).]
There are numerous readings of the cultural phenomenon of the Zombie Walk. Some insist upon innocuous interpretation – “the just for fun” idea – but more intellectually pretentious readings inevitably move towards Leftist interpretations:
“Zombies are critical repositories of social fears and desires related to capitalist wage slavery, race, gender, and the political power of the masses, and as such, they demonstrate how representations and performances of death, in widely different forms, have served remarkably consistent functions in the United States throughout the past two centuries. This project seeks to show that the zombie, as a creature of both slave and master, both living and dead, both black and white–often positioned as that which invades the normative space of the living, a space that is generally conceived of in terms of whiteness, patriarchy, and heterosexuality.” [Kee, Chera Dezarae, “And the dead shall walk the earth: Zombies and the politics of death.” Ph.D., University of Southern California, 2011.]
All indications point towards the increasing militancy and success of the Leftist agenda against “whiteness, patriarchy and heterosexuality” – towards greater equality and a celebration of plurality in all aspects of the social order.
Correspondingly, in a global as well as local context, there exists the same trend, whether a rising Chinese middle class or the phenomenon of “second world” investment in Africa.
Multiculturalism, pluralism in sexual, racial, religious, gender etc. is not only celebrated – it is the prevailing ethos of Western Civilization. How then is Zombie Walk deriding or critiquing anything but a phantasm (farce) according to this type of reading? Leftists are essentially pretending that the cultural and social levees have not long since collapsed under the tidal wave of their nauseating righteousness.
Rather than a Leftist reading of Zombie Walk, what about the social and cultural phenomenon viewed from the Alt-Right? Even a communist like Zizek easily dispels the Leftist chimera as the quackery that it is:
“The critical claim that patriarchal ideology continues to be the hegemonic ideology, is the form of the hegemonic ideology of our times – its function is to enable us to evade the deadlock of the hedonistic permissiveness which is actually hegemonic.” (Italics added) [Žižek, Slavoj. Living in the End Times. London New York: Verso, 2011.]
Zizek is saying that Liberalism is a disease and that the infected walk amongst us.
The sustained critique of Marx’s metaphor of the capitalist vampire and the associative dehumanizing processes accompanying it, along with the passive resistance and acceptance of the capitalist social order by the increasing numbers of consumer-driven zombified proletariat, has resulted in the reinforcement of ‘false consciousness’ amongst the afflicted.
This false consciousness includes an acceptance and internalization of ruling class values, whereby the working people of the West have bought into the “cultural Marxist” agenda of the elites. In as much as the capitalist elites push globalism, the brainwashed proletariat masses support their own dispossession by adopting “tolerance,” “multiculturalism,” and “political correctness” as their operating value systems, which have been artificially fed into their brains via the acculturation of elite values from the elite owned media.
In effect, most of the Normies and default liberals you meet are little more than Zombies. Thus one would expect the phenomenon of Zombie Walk to be widely “celebrated” in the “most multicultural city in the world,” Toronto. One blogto.com article states “Why Toronto is the Centre of the Zombie Universe” and, like an idiot leftist, arrives at the exact opposite conclusion:
“What Toronto does have is an awesome sense of community.”
Having lived nearly my entire life in Toronto I can attest to this being the most idiotic statement ever conceived, the use of the term “community” herein is not Tonniesian or studied or measured in any meaningful way. What the author of the article means is that Toronto completely lacks community and a sense of totality, and in the place of real community willingly substitutes a transient pseudo-community, which the participants, like their brain-dead second selves, do not even understand the true significance of.
This is an admission that these equalizing tendencies do not address the deeper issues of the prevailing social order of “capitalist wage slavery,” namely the mechanization of urbanism, the atomization of the individual, the loss of ‘organic solidarity,’ natural human interaction, and group identification, and their replacement by enforced political correctness and multiculturalism.
The zombies are expressions of the much deadened relations of political correctness and the tiresome and exhausting vampirism of the usury-based political economy. The emergence of the post-oedipal subject – the Sartrean existentialist man, the marginalized individual compelled to create his own universe, his own diffused carnivalesque freedom – is a sort of zombified subject, atomized and therefore unborn, undying, and undead, in a social context. He is fueled only by his desire for egoist satisfaction, to feed on the living, ruled over by the hollow pumpkin king.
Herein is republished an interview I did for the Alt-Right.
The subject of this interview is essayist and novelist Alex Fontana. Fontana hosts “The Fascist Pigs” podcast and blogs at alexfontana.wordpress.com. And of course, he is a frequent contributor to these pages.
I think I got here very uniquely and naturally by a curious mixture of happenstance, circumstance and volition, self-education, self-refection, and self-becoming. Firstly, I was never a disenchanted libertarian. I always say two major facets came together around the same period of my life to shape my worldview.
The first was my studies—I’ve met a lot of like-minded people, young nationalist types, who were awoken to racial politics in university. The hamfisted approach of liberal academics pushed a lot of people in my generation towards the extreme right and they will continue to do so. I think we are all “Stirner‘s own” ultimately, and all the crying of the Left for more Rights for (insert special interest group) is really about them stroking their own egos at the expense of the hegemonic and demonic figure of the white male who has been kowtowing for too long now.
Secondly, there was a very personal aspect in which my family was swindled by Jews—our property was then sold off to foreign Asian buyers. I think this is where I developed a real connection to other aspects of the Alt-Right, namely a healthy distrust of the Jews and a fierce anti-globalism that I already had even in my default leftist days—a kind of self-evident common-sense nationalism and tribalism. There is indeed a sense of the personal, that is a subjective dimension, to my politics and worldview, but I do not think they are lessened because of it, quite the opposite actually. This fueled a desire for retribution and knowledge that functions in a ‘Lenin’s brother’ sense of wanting nothing less than complete and total revolution.
The Alt Right is an umbrella term covering several different ideologies and sub-ideologies. Whether it be big or small, an ideological or a factual belief, what is your personal pet issue?
I have the unfortunate tendency to be interested in too many things all at once and then suddenly nothing at all holds my thoughts beyond some pitiful bromide—the struggle is real. One perennial concern of mine is to parcel out metaphysical differences between states of orientation. I really believe that the Left and the Right, for all their shared similarities on their extremities, represent different polarities in a metaphysical sense. This is something that bothers me to no end, most especially the tendency towards Manicheanism that can come from this sort of thinking. Beyond that, I have sort of become the Tomato Joe of this thing, which has made me focus on my ethnicity more than I thought I would due to…
What strand of Alt Right thought do you most dislike/disagree with, and why?
Nordicism. I’m not into the whole genetic determinist argument, which dovetails into this as well. I am far more a cultural determinist than a Spencerian. Flatly, see Stirner: I cannot be what I am not, but also I think it’s a product of a bygone era, the vestiges of such craniological determinates only raise WASP blood up to a lukewarm candor where “wyhte” is just right.
I also think it’s the wrong argument to make. The superior argument is given in Tonnies’s dichotomy—one of the advantages of this framework is that Asians do not suddenly get a pass. I am more concerned with the Asians than perhaps anyone else on the Alt-Right and see them as one of our biggest threats, a silent one. Historically the Jews have used an emerging power against the one that just housed them, transferring their loyalty and gifting their many attributes to a new host. Belshazzar’s feast has occurred more times historically than other rhyme.
–For the sake of clarity, I have to ask about this passage:
I also think it’s [Nordicism] the wrong argument to make. The superior argument is given in Tonnies’s dichotomy—one of the advantages of this framework is that Asians do not suddenly get a pass.
–Are you saying here that because Nordicists often argue for an “objective, scientific superiority” (for lack of a better phrase), that East Asians get a pass under this scheme because they average high intelligence, low time preference, et cetera? More broadly, White nationalists should be arguing that we are, and must remain, a community—a community of common blood and culture, rather than justifying ourselves on the grounds of material utility—i.e. the white ethnostate would have less crime. Is that about right?
You got what I was saying, and phrased it very well.
This is very well summarized as well. Tonnies himself saw his dichotomy at play whereby the state (Gesellschaft) and the society (Gemeinschaft) corresponded to these forms. He was not thinking in terms of empire, but it can easily be applied.
Greeks or Romans?
European Imperium or the Ethnostate?
Blacks or Jews?
Jews socially, creatively and intellectually—although I will probably disagree with them.
National Review or Huffington Post?
Batman or James Bond?
I hate James Bond; its a puerile fantasy with little redeeming or justifying attributes. I grew up a HUGE Batman fan. Out of the thousands of comic books that I still have, at least 3/4 are from the Batman universe. In contrast to 007, Batman is an Ubermensch in a symbolic and fictitious context that alleviates the suspension of disbelief and transcends into the realm of myth and Jungian archetypes.
Coppola or Scorsese?
My dad’s an Italian that despises gangster movies, I don’t really share his distaste but I know where it’s coming from. I just read a book on Scorsese by Robert Casillo, still Scorsese lost me when he changed the main character in The Wolf of Wall Street from a Jew into a WASP—he has no problem depicting Italians as criminals, but draws a line with the Jews? Although I love Gangs of New York. Short answer is “Charlie don’t surf.”
Don Cherry or Degrassi? (Fontana is Canadian, and I didn’t have the heart to ask him to choose between Bieber and Drake.)
I love Don Cherry.
